Hey everyone, welcome back. This is Mariana Thomas, and I'm excited to speak into this topic because lately a lot of people have been asking me. I know I have been getting a lot of questions. How did you get more energy? And in my opinion, and I heard this from another coach, that we don't have energy. We create energy. So ask yourself that question. Maybe you agree, maybe you disagree. But I strongly believe that we create energy and it could be a good and bad, right? It depends with what type of energy you're trying to create. In this case, I will say the energy that I'm giving you, the tips that I'm giving you. It's more for the daily life. Okay. Do you feel like you're running down, that you want to move quickly and be a little more alert? Um, this are the tips that I have for you. Okay, so let's get to it. This episode is going to be short and sweet, and I have something that I called “TGB” and I'm going to give it as a one, two and three, and then I have a few more for you. 



So the first one is easy: 12 deep breaths. And why? Because when we hold our breath, if you can tell…if we start losing our energy right? We start losing our life. Basically so breath is energy, it’s live energy. Really is live energy. So if you can just close your eyes right now, not if you're driving. So if you're driving, do not do this exercise. If you're sitting, you're walking in your house. You are maybe cleaning whatever you are, but is not driving in your car. Just take those slow, deep breaths. And I guarantee you that you are going to feel much better. You're going to gain some energy. That is the first step. 



The second one is this amazing exercise that I have been teaching lately, especially the past couple of weeks. And as the mirror exercise, I apply this exercise to myself almost every single day. And it goes like this: I stand in front of the mirror, like a superwoman, right? The energy pose. And I tell myself how awesome I am. That brings my self-esteem up. It gives me some energy. I tell myself, I'm beautiful from the inside-out. And I'm not talking about just the beauty of, you know, like the Miss Universe. I’m talking about the real beauty, the kindness, the compassion, that type of beauty that you demonstrate from the inside-out. This exercise truly has helped me so many times when I'm down when I feel like I don't want to do something when I'm running down or I feel a little bit down about myself, which it doesn't happen pretty often. So that's why you gotta do this exercise almost every single day because it will keep your energy up. Okay, remember, if we don't have the energy, we create the energy. So if you're there and you are in your house. Practice this stand in front of the mirror and tell yourself all the positive things that you can think of. And I'm being true, honest. Do not be cheap with your affirmations. Okay, Whenever follow the ions you become. So be very intentional with that. 



Now, let's go to the third one. Be aware of your thoughts. Oh, this is a huge, huge one. And why is that? Because when we tell ourselves negative things, right, you're gonna stand there in the mirror and you're gonna say it. Tell yourself how ugly your nose is, and look at your hair and look at this and look at that. Well, I think your energy is gonna go a little bit down, and you may not want to get out of your house even. So, be aware of your thoughts, okay? Don't believe everything that you think. Your thoughts are real, but you don't have to believe all of them. So remember that: Your thoughts are real, but you don't have to believe them. That's a huge one. When I learned this, I was like, Oh, boom. My goodness, how long I have been believing everything that comes through my mind? It has been a journey of mindfulness, of truly being intentional, to be very careful with my thoughts. So be aware of your thought. 



Number four, get some good sleep. I know there are some people that say that they can sleep on four hours or three hours or whatever that is. You know what? I am not going to discuss that. That may be what works for them. Okay. And if that is enough time for your body, then listen to your body and go with that. But if you are that type of person that needs six hours, seven hours, eight hours. Do it. Go for it. Keep yourself some sleep. And you may be thinking, “Well, Mariana, I have so much deeper issues with sleep, I can sleep. I get up in the middle of the night.” Whatever that case is. If you do have those issues, then you need to consult with your doctor. You need to consult maybe with a dietician and with a registered dietician. So you need to go a little deeper into what is going on there. But sleep is very important. Okay, so that is my number four.



Let's go with number five. Oh, this is a great one. And here's why. Because I practiced this as soon as I get out of bed. Okay? So before I get out of bed, I do my gratitude and all the other stuff, and I may do it, an episode on morning routines and I will talk to you about that. But water is my number five for gaining energy or creating energy in your body. Here's why our bodies are made out of water, especially our brain. Our brain is made out of water, mostly, in fact. Right? So when people say “I need coffee, I need my energy drink.” I'm thinking all they need is a glass of water. Believe me, if you drink a glass of water when you feel like if you are running out of energy, water will give you that little push as well. It's not the only thing. That's why I'm giving you some tips. Right. But what is the most simple thing to do? We all have access to that. And by the way, we got to be grateful for water. Okay, so make sure that you are hydrating yourself throughout the day when you feel like you were running out of energy or anything like that, so your body needs the water anyways. 



Number six. Oh, this is awesome. Okay, I know it's winter. I know it's dark outside sometimes, and it's raining and it's cold. Whatever. It's almost the end of February, Um, so actually almost March, so it's getting a little better. Get outside, go for a walk. Get in nature, go outside. Maybe call a friend and just tell them that you need a company to, you know, go for a 10, 15 minutes, 20 minutes, whatever time you have, get outside. And I think I've spoken into this and my last episode or the one before, about if you have a dog, go for a walk with your dog. What an easy way to get outside. And if you can't go outside your house, you have a backyard. Go in your backyard, sit down for 5-10 minutes. Just get outside. If it's sunny, you know. Even better. Of course. Protect your skin and all the other things… but get outside that give us energy. Nature gives us energy. The sun gives us energy, that beautiful vitamin D that we get a little bit of, helps to create in our body. So that's Number six. 



And number seven is: call a friend, even if it is for a walk, or call that friend that you know is happy all the time. That friend is always energized. You know, Maybe they were doing all these things that I just told you about. Or, they just have a personality this at the bit. Call them up and have a five-minute conversation. Call a friend that is funny. You know, I love people that can make me laugh. It gives me energy. They energize me because I'm not laughing all the time. I'm one of those that truly need something to make me laugh aloud. Okay, So really has to be something funny. So I had a couple of friends, a little funny, and once in a while I just called them so I can laugh. Nothing wrong with that guys. 



And that is it. Those are my seven tips to gain energy. And remember, we don't have energy. We create energy. So these tips are going to help you to create energy so you can move, sleep better, all those great things. You can be in a better mood. 


1. Take 12 deep breaths 

2. Exercise mirror where you tell yourself positive things, positive affirmations 

3. Be aware of your thoughts. Make sure you are not telling yourself, you know, all the things that bring you down. 

4. Get some sleep, whatever hours you need. Get your body that. 

5. Hydrate. Drink water. Your body is made out of it. Your brain is made out of it. Drink water.

6. Get outside, get in nature.

7. Call a funny friend who can make you laugh, who can make you giggle.
